writing about a troll

for writing the class had to carry on with a sentence about a troll. it helps us with are writing because we use adverbs and verbs and adjectives.

Everyone fled as the giant green troll talked a different language. His back was hard as rock and mossy with trees growing. His legs were skinny and green. He had a brown rope around his waist. From the giant green troll’s view he thought they were ants. They kept on fleeing as the giant green troll tried to talk to them again. He tore roof after roof by accident. He tried to speak again but none of the humans understood what he was saying. He started to get puffed. Everyone was hiding, he was as tall as a 5 story building to a human. It was looking for everyone. The humans started to come out; they used sign language. The giant green troll knew what they were saying with their hands and he started to talk back to the tiny ant humans. He wondered if they had food and water so he asked if they had any.

  1. Well done with your writing Oscar, it is very descriptive. You have looked very hard at the detail in the picture and used this to craft your writing. It could be great if you could edit your post to tell your audience what verbs, adverbs and adjectives do to add the magic to your writing. If you included a picture of the troll. Great effort.

  2. Great creative writing Oscar. You have given me a good picture in my head of the troll trying to communicate with the tiny humans. Have you written any other stories?

  3. Kia ora Oscar,
Well done on writing this fantastic, descriptive story about a troll!
You have included such an amazing storyline to follow, and the underlying messages you have included help make it that much more intriguing to read.
It is sad how everyone is scared of the troll at the beginning just because of the way he looks. I’m not going to lie, if a giant green troll with a back as hard as rock came up to me I would probably run away to! But we shouldn’t judge people by the way they look, and the troll turned out to be a very kind and caring person in the end making sure the villagers had food and water.
You mentioned how the troll spoke a different language. What language did he speak?
You also mentioned how he wore a brown rope around his waist. This is such a unique item to have included for the troll. What does he need the rope for?
Overall you have done an outstanding job! I look forward to reading some more of your short stories in the future!
